Ryan and I have been on all kinds of hunts together. We started at a young age still hunting whitetails with our rifles, and have since done all kinds of hunts including, multiple adventure hunts in the unforgiving terrains of Alaska. Things have changed since we were kids in the 80’s, the most noticeable being gear. With the gear available today we are able to take so much more gear and stay so much more comfortable than ever before. In fact there are so many choices for gear items it can be overwhelming when trying to figure out what is truly necessary to put in your pack.
On this episode Ryan and I break down what we put in our packs when we are going on a multi-day drop hunt and living off our backs. We also take about what we pack if we are going to have a base camp to hunt out of, or if you are just going out for the day or overnight.
As Ryan says early in this podcast, “It’s about time we finally press record on the this conversation.” We have spent 100’s of hours talking about what hear to bring, and have made plenty of mistakes. Hopefully this podcast can help get you on the fast track and not make the same mistakes we made early on.
Thanks for tuning in, and enjoy the show.
